Dementia Care Matters works with the School of Health and Social Care, University of Surrey. The organisation holds a ReQ mark with University of Surrrey and University of Brighton for recognised educational quality.

David Sheard, Chief Executive and Founder has held the post of Visiting Senior Fellow, University of Surrey since 2003 and an Honorary Doctorate was awarded to David in 2010 in support of Dementia Care Matters work.

Providing 3 accredited courses with BSc or MSc credits in Person Centred Dementia Care, Leadership Matters in Dementia Care and Training Skills Matter in Dementia Care. 

These annual courses are delivered in various locations across the UK and Ireland with around 600 participants enrolled each year. They are also commissioned "in-house" by organisaitons wishing to provide a full course for their own staff.
