Billie-Jo Button Support Manager - International
Resourceful ● Determined ● Sensitive
Born and raised in Brighton I would describe myself as a home bird in a very close family.
I studied English, Law and Sociology at college before going on to learn first-hand Hotel Management in one of Brighton’s biggest hotels. This qualification and experience took me to Cork in Ireland where I duty managed a small 113 bedroom hotel for 6 months. This was long enough away from my family and I longed to be back in Brighton.
On my return to the UK I started working for a large energy company in the south east of England, in my 8 years with the company I was a business coach and mentor, instrumental in setting up new departments training staff and development of processes.
My supervisory and management experience then took me on to managing a small group of exclusive underwear shops where I would visit trade fairs in France to buy stock for the coming seasons, this was a real highlight in my career and one I will remember fondly.
Following a period of illness I decided to take my career to a more creative corner and I studied Hairdressing and Barbering where I won 2 years in a row City College hairdressing awards for my Avant Garde work. On completing my qualification with the highest pass marks I was awarded a City Achievers Award. This took me to work in a first class lounge at Gatwick Airport.
In 2012 I felt something was missing from my career and wasn’t completely happy hairdressing so decided to get back to my career in the office, where my strengths are. I started my career with Dementia Care Matters as Admin Assistant – I was constantly asking questions and this got me where I am today!
In my home life I am a wife and a mum and love every minute of being close to my family.
